Training the Next Generation

The Ottawa Flying Club offers a variety of modular training solutions.

Private Training

A Private Pilot License (PPL) is an aviation certification that allows an individual to act as the pilot-in-command of an aircraft for recreational / personal purposes. Perfect for the weekend adventurer!

Commercial Programs

A Commercial Pilot License (CPL), along with Multi-Engine and Instrument training, forms the foundation for a career as a professional pilot. Whatever your aviation goals may be, we can help you take the first steps toward achieving them.

Ground School

Our in-house Private Pilot Ground School is offered twice a year, in the spring and fall. Each four-month course provides a structured classroom environment designed to support learning, encourage questions, and improve overall comprehension.

Instrument Training

A Group I or III instrument rating allows for flight into Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC). Students learn to conduct all phases of IFR flight, including departures, enroute operations, arrivals, and instrument approaches.

Multi-Engine Training

A Multi-Engine Rating provides pilots with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate multi-engine aeroplanes. The program focuses on advanced aircraft systems, performance management, and safe handling of asymmetric flight conditions associated with engine failure operations.

Instructor Training

Develop the knowledge, instructional techniques, and professional competencies required to safely conduct ground and flight instruction.
