Job Title: Dispatch / Line Staff (Part Time)
Location: Ottawa Flying Club (Ottawa International Airport, CYOW)
Reports To: Dispatch Manager
Position Overview
The Dispatch/Line Staff role is the front line of daily flight operations at the Ottawa Flying Club. This position combines customer service, dispatching, and ground operations. The primary responsibility is preparing aircraft for flight—including fueling, cleaning, towing, and de-icing—while also supporting dispatch functions, facility upkeep, and general operational support.
This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail, physical work outdoors in all weather, and professionalism when interacting with students, renters, instructors, and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aircraft & Ground Operations: Prepare aircraft for flight by fueling, towing, cleaning, and de-icing as required.
- Dispatch & Client Services: Verify flight sign-outs, manage bookings, maintain flight watch, and provide front-desk assistance to clients and visitors.
- Facilities & Safety: Conduct ramp inspections, support facility upkeep, and monitor compliance with safety and security procedures.
Qualifications:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) (Transport Canada security clearance)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical tasks in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment
