1. Sponsor

The Fly Day 2026 Prize Draw (the “Contest”) is conducted by The Ottawa Flying Club, 20 Lindbergh Private, Ottawa, Ontario (the “Sponsor”). Net proceeds from paid entries will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada (“CF Canada”).

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins at 8:30 a.m. ET on October 3, 2026 and closes at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on October 3, 2026 for no-purchase entries. Paid entries may be obtained until 4:00 p.m. ET on October 3, 2026 (the “Contest Period”). Entries received outside the Contest Period will not be accepted.

3. Eligibility

The Contest is open to residents of Ontario who have reached the age of majority (18) at the time of entry. Not eligible: employees of The Ottawa Flying Club and the members of their immediate families (parents, siblings, spouse/partner, children) and households, and anyone involved in running the Contest.

4. Prizes

There are three (3) prizes available to be won:

• Two (2) Esso gift cards, each valued at $250 CAD
• One (1) Aircraft Spruce gift card, valued at $150 CAD

Total approximate retail value of all prizes: $650 CAD. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable, are not redeemable for cash, and may not be substituted, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. If a prize becomes unavailable, the Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions of their issuers.

5. How to Enter

Each entry is made toward one specific prize: the Esso gift card draw or the Aircraft Spruce gift card draw. The entrant chooses the prize when entering.

Option A – Paid entry

Entries are available in person only, at The Ottawa Flying Club, at $2 per entry or 3 entries for $5. Payment is by cash only. For each entry, the entrant must complete the ticket stub with their full name and a daytime telephone number and place it in the container for the prize of their choice.

Option B – No-purchase entry

To enter without purchase, hand-write an original essay of at least 250 words, in English, on the benefits of flight training in Canada. Include on the same page or an attached sheet: your full name, a daytime telephone number, and the prize draw you are entering (Esso or Aircraft Spruce). Seal it in an envelope and deliver it in person to The Ottawa Flying Club, 20 Lindbergh Private, Ottawa, Ontario, no later than 3:00 p.m. ET on October 3, 2026. Submissions received after 3:00 p.m. ET on October 3, 2026 are ineligible.

Each eligible no-purchase entry receives one (1) entry in the selected prize draw, the same as one (1) paid entry. Limit of one (1) no-purchase entry per person. Any additional no-purchase entries from the same person will be disqualified.

Essays must be written entirely by hand by the entrant. Typed, printed, photocopied, mechanically reproduced or AI-generated submissions will not be accepted. Entries that are illegible, incomplete, under 250 words, not in English, or late will be disqualified. Essays are not judged; any eligible essay is entered into the draw. The Sponsor’s decision on whether an entry is eligible is final.

6. Draw

The draw will take place at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET on October 3, 2026 at The Ottawa Flying Club. Two (2) entries will be drawn at random from all eligible Esso entries, and one (1) entry will be drawn at random from all eligible Aircraft Spruce entries. Entrants do not need to be present at the draw to win.

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for each prize draw.

7. Skill-Testing Question and Winner Notification

Selected entrants will be contacted by telephone, at the number on their entry, within 48 hours of the draw. Before being declared a winner, a selected entrant must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.

A selected entrant will be disqualified, and another entry drawn from the same prize draw, if they cannot be reached after 3 attempts within 5 business days, answer the skill-testing question incorrectly, are found to be ineligible, or do not claim the prize as described below.

8. Prize Claim

Winners must claim their prize in person at The Ottawa Flying Club, with government-issued photo identification, within 14 days of being notified, or by another arrangement agreed with the Sponsor. Winners may be asked to sign a declaration confirming eligibility and compliance with these rules.

9. Personal Information

Personal information collected for this Contest (name and telephone number) will be used only to run the Contest, contact winners and award prizes. It will not be sold or shared, except as needed to award prizes or as required by law. Entry forms and essays will be securely destroyed 30 days after the Contest ends. Winners’ names may be announced by the Sponsor only with their consent.

10. General Conditions

• By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final.
• The Sponsor may disqualify any entry or entrant it believes has tampered with the entry process or acted in violation of these rules.
• The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or incomplete entries.
• By accepting a prize, winners release The Ottawa Flying Club, CF Canada, and their directors, officers, employees and volunteers from any liability arising from the Contest or the prize.
• The Sponsor may modify, suspend or cancel the Contest if circumstances beyond its reasonable control affect its proper conduct, subject to applicable law.
• Esso, Imperial Oil and Aircraft Spruce are not sponsors of this Contest and are not associated with its operation. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.
• This Contest is governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Void where prohibited by law.
