Ottawa Area Flight Test Examiners
Below is a current list of Flight Test Examiners for the Ottawa area.
While students have the right to contact the examiner of their choice and make arrangement for a flight test, OFC strongly recommends Gerry Thompson. Gerry is the most experienced examiner in the area and is on the OFC staff full time. Booking a flight test with Gerry is as easy as contacting Dispatch (613) 523-2142.
Each examiner charges for the test and may offer a reduced fee for a partial re-test in case of a partial failure or a full repeat test if it is required.
The tests are:
- Recreational Pilot Permit (RPP)
- Private Pilot License (PPL)
- Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
- Instructor Ratings
- Multi-Engine
- Single-Engine Instrument Flight Rules rating (SIFR)
- Multi-Engine Instrument Flight Rules rating (MIFR)
The Aviation Language Proficiency Test (ALPT) is an English-language or French-language proficiency test, set in an aviation context. It is designed for people with some knowledge of aviation whose native language is not English. However, all applicants including native English or native French speakers are required to complete the test.
